Kazuo's a violent kid by nature. The idea of punching or hitting someone with a baseball bat keeps him energized, and he's a sworn fan of sports such as boxing or professional wrestling. Easy to anger and even harder to calm down, he's never had an easy time with other people of his age. He's not all bad, though. His violence doesn't reach levels of cruelty, and he's got his own twisted sense of honour and justice, preferring to try and see himself as someone who hurts those who deserve it. The people who deserve it, however, are judged from his own skewed standards.

Kazuo's respect for authority seems to only extend to the very elderly and people younger than him, and he's developed a very negative view of adults. What's the difference between an adult and an elderly person? The number, that's about it. Kazuo does express interest in sports, even the nonviolent kind. He's also more hesitant to hit girls, and seems to have a nervous streak around "softer" guys. Get close enough to him, and hey. He's an alright guy ruined by a horrible temperament and a love for violence.

Kazuo grew up in your usual, almost idyllic japanese home. A stay-at-home mother and the husband who goes to work from seven to five and goes drinking with his work buddies right after, employee of the month material. Perhaps this idyllic life is what turned Kazuo off from the idea of being a proper continuation to the family. An only child, his troubles began early on, already getting into fights during meetings with the neighbors kids when he was only three. Through pre-school and grade school, this violent behavior continued, and even grew as his father tried to direct him into hobbies that'd help with controlling that anger. His football career ended early when he kicked the coach in the crotch, his dodgeball road skid to a halt when he tried to beat someone with one of the balls... So on, so forth.

His parents never reacted with much else than worry and these attempts to steer him into a better direction. They didn't want to (or couldn't) comprehend that their son had turned into such a delinquent without a good reason besides rebellion against the norm his family was setting up for him. It wasn't even a bad life, yet he was rebelling! Something like that was incomprehensible to everyone, even Kazuo himself. Yet he continued, out of sheer routine and love for violence. But, up until the very first day of his second year in high school, his violence had always been... Acceptable. But, one day, he stepped over the line.

Three people beaten to a pulp, with a fourth one barely able to contain him. No-one knows the exact reason /why/ Kazuo snapped on a level like this, the stories changing from "them just pissing him off enough" to "them threatening a girl he liked" to "he just thought one of the guys was cute and snapped, haha." Some reasons obviously more serious than others, the fact laid that Kazuo had clearly overstepped any sense of the words "acceptable violence." The only option left was the Kessho Reform Academy.
