[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
generally, cressiel is a very calm woman, able to handle most work-related situations with an easy air and a clear direction of what to do next. tending to wounds and helping children take their medication is a simple affair, after all - one she's quite confident in her ability to handle. certainly, a school full of delinquents has more patients than your average school, but very rarely does cressiel feel overwhelmed by the constant nature of her job. her peers might notice that it's easier for cressiel to consistently deal with and connect to the students of this school - they might notice that she quite clearly likes them more. to the students, she's rather sweet - interested in their daily struggles, and even guilty of spoiling quite a few.
[break][break]
cressiel has tried, in recent years, to become more open and friendly - and in parts, she has succeeded. she is, at the very least, capable of making small talk, cracking light jokes, and is very good at listening to others. even tempered in a very real sense, cressiel boasts the dubious honor of being perfectly acceptable company, even tending to adjust her behavior slightly one way or another if someone seems more or less receptive to her. in this way, you could call her something of a chameleon - having spent her whole life only responding to what other people need of her, she finds it a hard habit to break away from. this isn't to say she doesn't get frustrated with herself, or tired of people - but by habit, she exercises quite a bit of restraint, even if it relegates her to being decidedly passive-aggressive when upset.
[break][break]
the truth is, cressiel is extremely listless, extremely unmotivated, extremely disconnected. devoid of most things that would inspire your average person, her solitary interest appears to be in observing 'broken' people, a fixation bordering on obsession. she finds it difficult to form 'real' attachments - or, at least, for those attachments to be much more than surface obligations. in a way, cressiel matches many of the traits required of a sociopath; often finding interactions with people not within her realm of interest tiresome - though she would do her best to maintain a friendly air towards them. in the end, her life is one of restraint. and though some part of her would love to do nothing more than to cast aside everything that holds her, she doesn't quite want to acknowledge it yet.

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]HISTORY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
cressiel could have had the world. or, at least, that is what other people said - and it might have been difficult to not get that impression. cressiel was born with the silver spoon in her mouth - while far from what one might call nobility, her family did have quite a bit of money to their name, her father a prominent businessman and her mother a doctor. cressiel grew up somewhat unremarkable - one sibling of three out of a moderately well off family, pressured to excel in school. and that is exactly what cressiel did; following in the footsteps of her mother as far as her choice in career. cressiel never stepped too far out of line, rarely did more than what was asked of her, and was, by all accounts, decidedly agreeable - decidedly acceptable - decidedly forgettable. a "good girl".
[break][break]
so how did someone as soft and "acceptable" as her end up working for a school that housed the worst of the worst, from the students to the armed guards to the faculty themselves?
[break][break]
pity, perhaps. though, truth be told, cressiel had the idea long before she graduated, and long before she got her certification as a doctor. cressiel had an easy, sanitary, understandable life - terribly safe, terribly listless. but even her sheltered existence couldn't save her from the tumultuous time she grew up in, not completely. looking back, perhaps it was poor luck that left her there, when her own school fell victim to the rise in tensions and hate crime. when a few 'bad apples' that went so far as to hold an entire school building hostage - her included... it was a terrible event, and she should have looked back upon it with a desire to never be around such criminals again. but, when she was there, in the midst of all of it... perhaps... she envied their freedom. the freedom to do whatever you pleased, without anything holding you back. the freedom to take your life, good or bad, and do what you pleased with it - instead of simply following other people's expectations, never straying from the path given to you.
[break][break]
and if it was a whole school of people like that, people with traits that she couldn't help but admire, how could she not want to be there? how could she let the opportunity go, when it was the only thing capable of making her feel?
